Un-settling a thread dropped it back into its old creation-order slot in the sidebar, so it was hard to find again. It should come back like it just had a new action.

The server now stamps unsettledAt on the thread when a thread.unsettled event lands (an explicit un-settle, or an explicitly settled thread waking on new activity). Web and mobile sort active threads by max(createdAt, unsettledAt), so the un-settled thread surfaces at the top and holds that spot until it settles again. The list stays static otherwise, and row timestamps do not change. Old servers never send the field, so their threads keep creation order.

Known limit: threads that settle automatically (inactivity window, merged pull request) still return to their old position when new activity wakes them. Auto-settle is derived on the client, so the server has no event to stamp. That needs its own design and PR.

Advances this sync PR from e67074f to upstream's current head, adding 8 commits. Notably pingdotgg#8228 (push no longer writes a feature branch's commits to its base branch), pingdotgg#7140 (reveal chat file chips in the system file manager), pingdotgg#8227 (hosted legacy model classification), and pingdotgg#8231 (un-settled threads return to the top of the list). Stacked onto this branch rather than branched fresh from main: PR #53 is not merged, so a new branch from main would have redone the whole e67074f resolution and produced a competing PR. Merging forward keeps one sync PR that targets the real upstream head, with no force push. Brings un-settled threads returning to the top of the active list (pingdotgg#8231) and a release-CI speedup. Two commits, but 18 of the 23 files carried fork delta: pingdotgg#8231 lands squarely in thread sort, settle, and pin. Upstream's new `unsettledAt` is an automatic re-entry anchor; the fork's `movedToTopAt` is an explicit user bump. They share an ordering axis but not a trigger, so both survive and the composed sorters take the newest of base, `unsettledAt`, and `movedToTopAt`. Three conflicts, all mechanical. Upstream's migration was renumbered 043 to 052 over the fork's own 043. The rest was work upstream could not see. Its diff cannot reach the fork's `listRecentArchivedThreadRows` SELECT or `getRecentArchivedThreads` shell, and the column is a required key, so both would have failed at decode. The Older shelf classifies before the active sorter runs, so `unsettledAt` had to reach `threadOlderRecencyAtMs` or a freshly un-settled old thread would be filed away before the sort could lift it. One defect was mine. Composing with upstream's `activeThreadAnchorTimestampMs` read as tidy reuse, but it folds `createdAt` in unconditionally, which floors the latest-user-message chain. Session import stamps a fresh `createdAt` onto an old conversation, so every import sorted as brand new. Both clients now carry a regression test for it. Mutation testing on the migration renumber, the recent-archive SELECT, and both flooring tests: each fails when its source is broken.

Ten days of main (194 commits, 640 files) re-integrated with the v2 re-architecture. The headline mechanics: - migrations: main added 041-043 (AuthSessionClientConnection, ProjectionThreadLinkedPullRequest, ProjectionThreadsUnsettledAt), so the v2 block renumbers 041-049 → 044-052 with the migration tests shifted to match - contracts: OrchestrationClientOrigin (#7774) and the origin metadata field live in applicationEvent.ts and re-export through the legacy path; ProviderApprovalOption + acceptAlways + mcp-elicitation (#8058) land in providerPolicy.ts; OrchestrationDispatchCommandError (#8824) added; the send-turn image-mime home stays chatAttachment.ts - threadSettled: main's settle-once-on-merge semantics (#7454) and un-settle re-anchor (#8231) hand-merged onto the v2 duck-typed shells (latestRun ?? latestTurn reads); web callers pass the new ChangeRequestSettleSource shape - timeline anchoring: main's #7897 (follow-up sends no longer push to the top) ported by scanning user rows only; the branch test now encodes the new semantics, as does mobile's #7969 settled-pinned shelf behavior - vcs: branch's deleteLocalBranch coexists with main's pruneWorktrees and the #7674 submodule checkout tests - ws: v2 RPC surface keeps its dispatch path; main's attachment upload RPCs (#8048) and client-connection analytics recording are wired; providerUploadFeedback (#7949) fails explicitly pending a v2 route - approvals: main's option-driven approval buttons (#8058) render through the v2 canRespond gate on web and mobile - ChatView/ChatComposer/MessagesTimeline/Sidebar/session-logic/ threadActivity keep the branch's v2 architecture; main's v1-coupled deltas to those files are recorded for follow-up rather than force-fitted Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
